An old XI century Monastery, now a beautiful boutique winery, one of the first winery to be organic.
They take care of the vineyard as if it were their second home, they know every stone, every plant. It is the undisputed realm of Monia’s husband, Franco who personally takes care of all the steps of production: from pruning to parcel harvesting to bottling.
A guarantee of quality and commitment that is added to the privileged position of the vineyards (7.5 hectares in total) located partly in the center of the Conca d’Oro in Panzano in Chianti. The altitude (400-500 meters), the wet microclimate and the rocky terrain rich in galestro do the rest.
They grow different clones of Sangiovese, a native vine that they love and to which they have dedicated 7 hectares out of 7,5 ha.
They produce wines with a marked minerality, perfumed, with the notes of red fruits typical of the Sangiovese and hints of oak, average structure with good acidity and beautiful dense and round tannins.
This 100% Sangiovese is fresh, bright ruby red colored wine, pretty intense cherry notes, typical of their wines, with unique earthy nose, fine hints of red fruits. Finely structured, well balanced.
Nice tannins, tasty and persistent
Good pairing with: meat, ribollita, cured, cheeses, pasta courses.
