Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva Docg, Tenuta Le Calcinaie
The owner, Simone Santini, stubborn and exuberant, has always had a passion for viticulture, and as soon as he graduated as a wine technician in Siena he tried to put his studies into practice.
The soil is rich of yellow sand and clay with little or no skeleton, very rich in potassium a lot of shell fossils, thanks to its past when San Gimignano was covered by the ocean.
It is a fat and silky land and the name of the winery derives from the rich presence of lime.
His Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva, is deep, rich and persistent. Pure taste of the San Gimignano terroir.
Made with 95% of Sangiovese grape and 5% of Canaiolo grape, aged in wood barrels for 18 months.
