Rosso di Montalcino is selected from Brunello’s wine, one year after the beginning of aging in oak barrels.
During this selection, we taste all the barrels of the future Brunello di Montalcino and make a mix of what we believe can be bottled first, with the name Rosso di Montalcino, their goal is to produce a wine with excellent quality, but easy to drink.
Every year Rosso di Montalcino reflects the freshness of Sangiovese and enhances the characteristics of the wine-growing season.
The 2019 vintage has been one of the best seasons in the last 15 years, both in terms of grape quality and quantity.
A perfect season with an excellent ripening of the bunches, means that the red of Montalcino 2015 can be defined as the younger brother of Brunello.
The 2019 is a wine with an excellent structure, fresh red berries aromas and light vanilla notes, a wine ready to drink, but also for aging (7-8 years).
It goes well with grilled meats, pasta with ragout sauce, with cold cuts and pecorino cheeses.
